"Slam" Adkins, known throughout the hydroplane pits as "Magic Man" because of his enjoyment of magic tricks has been a hydroplane fan all his life. While working as an Information Systems Manager for Jerry Rise, he got the chance to join the Appian Jeronimo crew in 1998. He worked on the Appian Jeronimo through 2000, joining the USA Racing Partners team and the U-5 crew. He spent 2001 with USA Racing Partners working on the U-10. When he found out the U-4 was finally being built, he called up and said "I'm coming over!" Besides being a computer geek and the owner of Technical Voodoo, Slam enjoys acting, stunt acting and both indoor and outdoor pyrotechnics and special effects. |
